Fortieth Oink (Negyvenedik röf-röf)

The fillér, which was one hundredth part of a Hungarian Forint, no longer exists. If fillérs were still around today, this 20 f. coin, dated 1971, from the Magyar Népköztársaság, which has also ceased to exist, would be worth approximately 0.0668 pence.The hand-written pages are part of the appendix of the famous book, "Tanár úr kérem" by Frigyes Karinthy. They are excerpts from Karinthy's own school diary from 1900. My copy of this book was printed in 1971, the same year as the coin was minted, and was priced at 10 Forint (about 3.34 pence at today's exchange rate).
